The Vetta Chamber Music Society has been presenting high calibre chamber music with some of the best musicians from BC for over 35 years. Over the years Vetta has grown so that now we present five main productions with over 20 concerts in Vancouver and other communities throughout BC. Programs include pre-concert talks and friendly receptions where musicians meet the audience.  

Our mission is to create quality concert experiences that we can share with our audiences in an engaging and intimate way. Vetta Chamber Music has gained a reputation as being the pre-eminent locally produced chamber music series in Vancouver.  Our motto is “engaging, connecting, sharing”, and we are committed to presenting a wide selection of repertoire to our audience, including regularly commissioning new works by B.C. composers. 

Vetta has also partnered with other organizations including Heart of the City Festival Vancouver, Canadian Music Centre, Elektra Women's Choir; Vancouver Chamber Choir; Victoria Summer Music Festival, Maple Ridge Music Society, Pender Harbour Music Society, Music at Wentworth Villa, Chamber Music Kelowna, West Coast Winter Music Society Tofino, and ArtSpring on Salt Spring Island.  

In 2015 Vetta Chamber Music undertook a collaborative project “Seasons of the Sea” which combines First Nations and western music traditions. Rosemary Georgeson, First Nations (Sahtu Dene/Coast Salish) storyteller and 2009 recipient of the Vancouver Mayor’s Award, leads us in this project. Since its premiere in 2016, Seasons of the Sea has seen many performances in Vancouver and throughout the province, including a video-recording version in June 2021 filmed at the Bill Reid Gallery and an expanded version with orchestra with the Vancouver Island Symphony Orchestra in November 2022.
