vetta concerts 2024-2025

Concert Two

This program explores the relationships between the Land and the Sea and the music and stories they inspire. The first half will feature chamber works related to the land and stories that come from it, from Sibelius to Bloch to Carmen Braden’s (Yellowknife) “The Raven Conspiracy”. The second half features “Seasons of the Sea”, with words by Rosemary Georgeson, Coast Salish/Sahtu Dene artist and music by Jeffrey Ryan. This cross-cultural collaborative work brilliantly weaves stories and music together about life on and around the sea.

Please join us for a post-concert Talking Circle after each performance.

Concert Two - Land & Sea
Ernest Bloch  Paysages, B.62 for string quartet
Carmen Braden The Raven Conspiracy
Jean Sibelius   Impromptu for Strings
Jeffrey Ryan, Rosemary Georgeson  Seasons of the Sea
